Generally labels attached on fruits and other food products are used to scan the price of a product at checkout stand. But, it also tells about the how fruit was grown up and this code or a label on the product is called as PLU (price lookup number).

This PLU code will help you to know whether the fruit is organic, genetically modified or produced by chemical fertilizers and pesticides.

Here are some things you need to know about the labels on the fruits to protect your health from all the corners of our hands.

  • A five digit label that starts with 9 number, this means the product is organic.
